Areas We Cover

Our workshop is based in Knysna and we regularly work across the wider Garden Route. Site visits, fabrication and installation are planned around each area and project type.

Knysna and Knysna Industria

Knysna is our home base, so this is where we handle most measuring, fabrication and workshop prep. From homes in town to holiday properties, lodges and small commercial sites, we can usually turn around local work quickly and keep site time to a minimum.

Being in Knysna Industria also helps when a project needs a second visit for a final fit, a glass panel check, or adjustments after a coastal gate has moved a little in the weather. For owners who need clear communication and practical timing, local work is often the easiest place to start.

Plettenberg Bay and the coastal strip

Plettenberg Bay projects often call for careful measuring and finishes that can handle salt air, wind and daily use. We regularly assist with balustrades, handrails, gates, marine fittings and custom stainless parts for homes and guest properties along this stretch.

  • Site measuring for new builds and renovations
  • Stainless repairs for existing fittings
  • Glass fitment and gate hardware fitment
  • Maintenance checks after coastal exposure

If you are planning work near the beach or on an elevated deck, it helps to allow for access, fixing points and any municipal or estate rules before fabrication starts. That keeps the install day simple.

Sedgefield and Wilderness jobs

Sedgefield and Wilderness often need a mix of neat finish and practical strength, especially where balustrades and handrails must suit timber decks, garden steps or uneven site conditions. We plan these jobs around access, load-bearing details and the time needed for onsite installation.

For smaller jobs, we can often combine site measuring with a workshop visit back in Knysna, then return once the parts are ready. That saves time for property owners and gives a cleaner handover.

George and nearby commercial sites

George work usually includes a wider mix of commercial and residential jobs, from shopfront handrails to security gates and custom stainless fittings for offices, complexes and service areas. These projects can involve more coordination, so we schedule site visits and installation dates around the other trades on site.

  • Shop drawings for approval before fabrication
  • Custom fabrication for repeated components
  • Onsite installation with minimal disruption
  • Surface restoration for worn or stained stainless

Where building access is limited, or there are working hours restrictions, we plan in advance so the crew arrives with the right parts and tools. That matters even more when the power is off and the site is already running on backup.

Mossel Bay and longer Garden Route callouts

Mossel Bay sits further out, but we still handle selected projects there when the scope suits the trip. Longer callouts work best when the job is properly measured, drawings are signed off, and fabrication can be completed in one planned run.

We look at the full picture before committing to travel, including installation access, finish requirements, and any maintenance follow up that may be needed later. That way the trip is worth it for the client and for the schedule too.

How to choose the right area page

If you are not sure where your project fits, start with the town or nearest service area, then match it to the type of work needed. A balustrade in a coastal home is not handled the same way as a commercial gate, and a repair is different from a full custom fabrication job.

Use the area pages for practical details such as travel range, common project types and typical site conditions. If your property sits outside the main towns, send the location, a few photos and the measurements you already have, and we will tell you if it can be handled from Knysna without fuss.

What we can bring to each area

Across the Garden Route, the same core services apply, but the mix changes from one town to the next. We plan each project around the site conditions, the expected use and the finish required, whether it is a handrail in a home, a gate on a coastal plot or stainless fitment on a marine job.

  • Site Measuring
  • Shop Drawings
  • Custom Fabrication
  • Onsite Installation
  • Glass Fitment
  • Gate Hardware Fitment
  • Marine Fitouts
  • Stainless Repairs
  • Surface Restoration
  • Maintenance Checks

Because our work is done from Knysna, we can keep the process practical and consistent for local and regional clients alike. That makes it easier to plan around weather, access and the kind of finish the job needs.

Questions we get asked

Which towns do you cover from Knysna?

We regularly work in Knysna, Plettenberg Bay, Sedgefield, Wilderness, George and Mossel Bay. For jobs outside those towns, send the location and we will advise if the project can be handled from our Knysna base.

Do you travel for measuring and installation?

Yes, we do. Site measuring, fabrication and installation are arranged according to the area and the job type, so we can plan the trip properly and bring the right team and materials.

What should I send first if I want a quote?

Send the town, a short description of the work, a few photos and any rough measurements you already have. If the job is coastal, commercial or needs a glass or gate hardware fitment, mention that too.
