Led from Knysna Industria, built for local work

Sisonke Stainless started in 2019 and is still run with the same straightforward idea: measure carefully, fabricate properly, and install with care. Based in Knysna Industria, we handle stainless projects for homes, lodges, marine spaces and commercial sites across Knysna, Plettenberg Bay, Sedgefield, Wilderness, George and Mossel Bay.

Our team works close together because stainless jobs often need more than one set of hands and eyes. Coastal humidity, site access, uneven walls and load-shedding all affect the end result, so we plan for those details before the first cut is made.

Siyabonga Mthembu keeps the standard set

Siyabonga Mthembu, our Managing Director, leads the business with a practical focus on quality and finish. He has guided Sisonke Stainless from the early Sisonke Projects days into a workshop that handles balustrades, handrails, gates, repairs and custom stainless parts for the Garden Route.

He is hands-on with planning and client communication, and he makes sure each job starts with the right measurements and a clear scope. If a project needs an on-site change, a stronger fixing detail, or a better way to handle coastal exposure, Siyabonga makes the call early so there are fewer problems later.

  • Oversees project planning and job flow
  • Checks that site details match the workshop drawing
  • Helps set the finish standard for every installation

The office and estimating side that keeps jobs moving

Annelise van Wyk, our Operations Manager, keeps the daily work organised so the workshop and site crews can keep moving. She manages schedules, communication and admin, which matters when one team is measuring in Wilderness while another is loading material for George.

Nokuthula Dlamini, our Estimating Coordinator, turns enquiries into clear quotes and workable job details. She knows that clients want straight answers on lead times, material choices and installation planning, especially when a project depends on municipal approvals or needs to be done around tenant access. Her work helps keep the process clear from the first email to the final invoice.

  • Handles scheduling, admin and client coordination
  • Prepares quotes and scopes for custom work
  • Keeps communication practical and easy to follow

The workshop hands shaping the stainless

Luyanda Ngesi, our Workshop Supervisor, leads fabrication day to day in the Knysna workshop. He manages the cutting, forming and finishing stages, and he keeps an eye on detail where stainless work can be won or lost, like clean weld lines, consistent spacing and correct alignment for balustrade infills.

Ruan Botha, our Site Installation Lead, takes that workshop finish out into the field. He handles onsite fitting, final adjustments and the practical parts of installation that make a gate swing properly or a handrail sit true against a wall that is not quite square. Together, they bridge the gap between the drawing board and the finished job.

  • Fabrication and finishing in the workshop
  • Onsite fitting and final adjustment work
  • Checks that fixings, gaps and alignment are right

The team that handles repairs, fitment and site detail

Johan Nel, our Fabrication Technician, works on the finer parts of the job, from custom components to repairs that need a neat, lasting finish. He is often involved when a client needs a replacement piece, a surface restoration, or a modification to match existing stainless work without making it look patched in.

Our team also handles glass fitment, gate hardware fitment, marine fitouts and maintenance checks, which means there is often a mix of fabrication and onsite problem-solving on the same project. That is useful along the coast, where salt air can shorten the life of poor fittings and where regular checks can save money later.

  • Custom stainless parts made to suit existing work
  • Repairs and surface restoration for worn fittings
  • Maintenance checks for homes, businesses and marine sites

Why clients across the Garden Route work with us

Clients come to Sisonke Stainless because they want a team that understands the job from start to finish and does not treat small details as small. A balustrade in Plettenberg Bay, a gate in Sedgefield or a handrail in Mossel Bay all need the same careful approach if they are going to hold up in local conditions.

We work neatly, keep the site as tidy as we can, and aim to leave every project ready for real use. If you need a measure, a repair, a full custom fabrication or an installation that has to be done around weather, access or power interruptions, our team is set up for that kind of work.

The people behind the work

At Sisonke Stainless, the team is what keeps the business steady. Each person has a clear part to play, and that means clients get proper measuring, sound fabrication, careful installation and honest communication all the way through. It is a small thing, but it makes a big difference when the job has to fit first time and last through Knysna humidity, coastal wind and everyday use.

If you are planning stainless work anywhere across the Garden Route, our team is ready to quote, measure and install with the same practical attention we bring to every project.
