How to arrange a site visit in Knysna or the Garden Route
Email projects@sisonkemanufacturing.co.za and tell us where the work is, what you need and when the site is open. If the job is in Knysna Industria, a home in Sedgefield, a holiday unit in Plettenberg Bay or a site in George, we will line up a visit that suits the access and the work on hand.
When you book, include any gate widths, stair photos, balcony lengths or notes about corrosion, loose fittings or past repairs. That helps us prepare before we arrive and saves time on site.
- Your name and contact number
- Suburb or town and a short site description
- Type of work needed: balustrade, handrail, gate, repair or fitment
- Preferred days and times for access
- Any access notes, like building rules, security gates or parking limits
What we check during the measure
Our team measures the area carefully and checks the fixing points, levels and clearances. For coastal properties in Wilderness, Mossel Bay and Plettenberg Bay we also look at exposure to salt air, drainage and the places where water may sit against the metal. That helps us choose the right finish and fixings for longer service life.
We do not only measure the visible length. We look at hand clearance, step heights, post positions, wall strength and how people will use the finished item day to day. If there is glass fitment, gate hardware or a repair to an older stainless section, we note the existing condition and what needs to be replaced or cleaned up.
- Balcony and stair measurements
- Post spacing and anchor points
- Gate swing, latch position and ground clearance
- Wall, slab or steel support condition
- Signs of rust, pitting or surface wear
From measure to drawing and fabrication
Once the measure is done, we prepare shop drawings for approval where needed. This gives you a clear view of the layout, sizes and fit before fabrication starts. It also helps when a body corporate, builder or property manager needs something in writing for sign-off.
Our Knysna workshop handles custom fabrication for stainless parts, balustrades, handrails, gates, marine fitouts and repairs. If the job needs a special bracket, a small run of parts or a one-off fix, we make it to suit the site. We keep the work practical and sized for local use, from a compact courtyard gate to a long ocean-facing railing.
- Shop drawings for approval and checking
- Custom fabrication to site size
- Hardware fitment for gates and access points
- Surface restoration for tired or marked stainless
Installation, access and site conditions
Our installation team fits the finished work on site and checks alignment, fastening and operation before we leave. We work across Knysna, Sedgefield, Wilderness, George and Mossel Bay, so we understand the mix of homes, holiday properties, workshops and light commercial sites in the region.
Please let us know about stairs, steep driveways, upper-floor access or times when the site is not open. If the property is in a managed complex, we can work around municipal rules, estate access times and noise limits. On some sites we also plan around load-shedding and weather, so the job stays on track.
- Clear access to the work area
- Parking close enough for tools and material
- Power access if welding or fitting checks are needed
- Any permit, body corporate or site rules
Repairs, maintenance and urgent call-outs
Not every visit is for a new installation. We also assist with stainless repairs, loose handrails, tired gate hardware, damaged brackets and maintenance checks. A small fault caught early often costs less to sort than waiting until a post works loose or a fitting starts marking the surrounding finish.
For coastal homes and marine fitouts, regular checks matter. Salt air, strong sun and daily use can all affect fasteners, hinges and polished surfaces. If you are not sure whether the item needs repair or replacement, send us a photo and we will advise on the next step.
- Loose or noisy handrails
- Gate hardware that is sticking or sagging
- Surface marks, staining or early corrosion
- Weld repairs and part replacement
What to expect after you contact us
After we receive your details, we reply with the next available opening and confirm what the visit will cover. If the job is straightforward, we may only need one measure before moving ahead. If it is a larger project, we will talk through the sequence so you know what happens first and when the site will need attention again.
You will deal with a local team based in Knysna Industria, with Siyabonga Mthembu leading the business and the workshop and site teams handling the day to day work. That means you get practical feedback from people who measure, fabricate and install the work themselves, not a middle layer passing notes around.
If you need a site visit in the Garden Route, send the details and we will come back with the next step. The sooner we see the site, the sooner we can give you a proper plan and a fair estimate.
