What to Send for a Quicker Quotation
The more detail you give us, the easier it is to price the work properly. A clear quote starts with your site location, what needs to be made, and where the item will be installed. If you already know the size in metres or millimetres, include that. If not, send photographs with a short note and we can work from there.
For stainless work, small details matter. Coastal homes in Knysna, Plettenberg Bay, Wilderness and Sedgefield often need different finishes and fixings to suit salt air and moisture. If the item is for a rental unit, a business frontage or a marine area, tell us that too so we can allow for the right material and fixings.
- Site address or town
- Photos from more than one angle
- Approximate sizes and heights
- Type of job: balustrade, handrail, gate, repair, or custom part
- Any glass, hardware or brackets that must be included
- Access notes, such as stairs, retaining walls or tight parking
How the Quotation Process Works
Once we receive your details, we review the request and decide whether we can price from photos and measurements or whether a site measure is needed. For many jobs, especially balustrades, gates and handrails, an onsite measure gives the safest result. That lets us check levels, wall conditions, fixing points and the actual run lengths before fabrication starts.
After measuring, we prepare the quote with the scope of work, material type, fixing method and installation allowance. If you need a phased job or want to compare options, we can often price a basic version and an upgraded version. This helps when you are working to a budget or planning a larger build over a few stages. We keep things clear, no guess work.
- Send your request by email
- We review the scope and ask follow-up questions if needed
- We arrange a site measure when required
- We issue a quotation with the work clearly listed
- You approve the quote before fabrication begins
Jobs We Commonly Quote Across the Garden Route
Our workshop in Knysna Industria handles a mix of domestic, commercial and marine work. A lot of requests come in for stainless balustrades around decks, staircases and pool areas, but we also quote handrails, gates, brackets, trim pieces, protective fittings and repair work for existing installations. If you need something made to suit a hard-to-fit opening, send the dimensions and we can look at a custom fabrication solution.
We also help with maintenance checks and surface restoration for stainless items that have picked up staining, tea marks or weather wear. In coastal areas, regular maintenance is worth planning for because salt and wind can shorten the life of fittings if they are left unchecked. For commercial properties, we can include fitment details to suit site rules and access times.
- Balustrades and stair handrails
- Driveway and pedestrian gates
- Glass fitment and support brackets
- Marine fitouts and deck hardware
- Repairs and surface restoration
- Maintenance checks for existing stainless work
What Helps Us Price Accurately
Accurate pricing depends on getting the right information upfront. If the job is new build work, tell us whether the structure is concrete, brick, timber or steel. If it is a replacement, mention what is already there and what problems you are trying to fix. Rust staining, loose anchors, water pooling and poor alignment all affect the final method and the cost.
Photos should show the full area as well as close-ups of fixing points, corners, joints and any damaged sections. If you can, include one photo from far back and one from close range. A short note with measurements in metres or millimetres is very helpful. Even a rough sketch on paper is better than nothing, and we can work from that.
If your site has load-shedding interruptions, limited after-hours access or estate entry rules, mention those early. It saves time later and helps us plan the installation properly.
- Measurements and a sketch, even a simple one
- Photos of the full area and close-up details
- Material preference, if known
- Access constraints or security rules
- Deadline or preferred installation window
Installation, Repairs and Follow-Up Support
We do not only quote for new fabrication. If your existing handrail is loose, your gate is catching on the ground, or a stainless section has been damaged, send the details and we will assess whether a repair or replacement makes more sense. Some jobs only need a new bracket, fresh fixings or surface restoration, while others need a full rebuild. A proper quote should tell you that clearly.
After installation, we can advise on cleaning and basic care so the finish lasts longer in Garden Route conditions. For coastal homes and commercial properties near open water, simple maintenance makes a real difference. If you need a follow-up check after a storm, renovation or repainting job, we can usually assist with that as well.
Our team includes Siyabonga Mthembu, Annelise van Wyk, Luyanda Ngesi, Ruan Botha, Nokuthula Dlamini and Johan Nel, so your request is handled by people who know the workshop and the site work. We keep communication direct and practical.
Send Your Details to Sisonke Stainless
Email your request to projects@sisonkemanufacturing.co.za and include as much detail as you have at hand. If the information is partial, send what you can and we will guide you on the next step. We regularly work in Knysna, Plettenberg Bay, Sedgefield, Wilderness, George and Mossel Bay, so let us know where the site is and we will advise on measuring or installation timing.
For the fastest response, use a subject line that says what you need, for example balustrade quote, gate repair or custom stainless part. That makes it easier for us to sort the request and come back to you with the right questions. If you are comparing options for a project, ask us to quote the scope separately so you can see the difference between materials, finishes and fitting methods. That kind of detail helps you make a sound call.
